Aviation Sheet Metal Technician at Ameriflight LLC

We operate over 150 dedicated cargo aircraft, including the Saab 340B, Embraer 120, Fairchild SA227, Beechcraft 1900, and Beechcraft 99 from bases across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

BASIC DUTIES
- Pay range is $19-$24 per hour depending on experience
- Perform all manner of maintenance on Ameriflight aircraft in accordance with company policy, manufacturer’s recommendations and Federal Aviation Regulations
- (CRS) the component repair station, accomplish airframe structural repairs and/or alterations, to include the installation of antennas, doublers, radios, racks, instruments and equipment
- Document work completed per company procedures and Federal Aviation Regulations
- Manufacture or repair sheet metal items in accordance with written instructions, blueprints or engineering drawings
- Read and interpret written instructions, blueprints or engineering drawings accurately
- Accurately and legibly record each maintenance or alteration on the proper repair station and/or customer supplied forms (to include signature or initials)
- Maintain records such as work order documentation, logs, and time & material records
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Other duties as assigned
- FAA repair station experience preferred
- Prior experience in aircraft structural maintenance and repair
- Be competent and experienced in the use of metal shears & metal brakes
- Experience performing composite bonded repairs preferred
- Experience with repairs cosmetic in nature to aircraft cabin interiors preferred
- Experience within a fast-paced, scheduled maintenance operation
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be eligible to work in US
- High School diploma/GED required. Minimum of Associates Degree preferred
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and be able to communicate effectively with other employees
- Must be able to interpret documents such as policy, repair and safety manuals
- Must be able to work various shifts
- Positive disposition, professional attitude, professional appearance
- Ability to obtain airport access badge
- Successful completion of pre-employment required DOT drug screening and other required background checks
- Must have a valid Driver’s License and meet all company insurance criteria
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be willing and able to travel
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to manipulate objects, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks
- May travel for training, to repair aircraft in the field, and to provide temporary support for other bases
- May work outdoors, in weather as necessary
- May work in close proximity to moving aircraft and machinery
- May work in a potentially noisy work environment
