Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS), F-35 Sustainment Operating Unit, has an opening for a Manager Aircraft Maintenance 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. You will be assigned as a Manager Aircraft Maintenance 2 supporting F-35 organizational maintenance at MCAS Yuma, AZ. Your Mission will be to support O-Level maintenance on F-35.
Your duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- Partners with the site Product Support Manager to lead and manage personnel, develop projects, programs, and procedures for Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) operations.
- Functions as the focal point for all tasks performed by CLS team. Assists the site manager in coordinating with customer and support agencies on constraints and risks that affect critical path milestones.
- Develops, tracks, updates, and reports production activities and communicates with the USMC leadership and LM Site lead on a consistent basis.
- Oversees initiation of ARs outside the scope of planned maintenance tasks and tracks cradle-to-grave actions and reports them to integration/agile cell.
- Ensures personnel obtain training needed to support customer’s needs and achieve qualification requirements.
- Collaborates with NG Site lead and LM site lead on maintenance surges and schedule changes to support modifications and CLS operations.
- Participates in maintenance meetings with the unit or coordinates maintenance status briefings at the customer’s request.
- Conducts safety briefings and addresses and resolves problematic maintenance complexities that arise in the completion of maintenance actions.
Basic Qualifications
- A High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 12 yrs experience supervising and assigning program workloads as well as duties for entire shifts of workers performing aircraft maintenance repair, inspection, and modifications. A Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 7 years of direct relevant experience may also be considered.
- Minimum of 1 year of F-35 Experience.
- One year minimum as a Maintenance or Production Control Supervisor.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A current Secret or higher Clearance.
- Ability to obtain Special Access Program clearance, as required.
- Ability to provide temporary support to our other CLS locations and/or emerging deployments.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status for 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year.
Preferred Qualifications
- More than 1 year of F-35 experience, but at least 15 + years of aircraft maintenance experience.
- Experience with working multiple aircraft and programs simultaneously.
- Lead Production Supervisor or Maintenance Control Supervisor experience.
- Experience forecasting manpower requirements, creating staffing plans, and creating material Bill of Materials (BOM) to support future work efforts.
- Highly skilled in using MS Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.
- Experience identifying and procuring consumables, HAZMAT, tooling, and spare parts required for specific operations.
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
