Support Pilot at Amentum
The Maintenance Support Pilot will fly support missions for the maintenance program and support the CAL-FIRE contract throughout the State of California. This position will fly company owned Cessna 172, Cessna 206, with potential for upgrade into a Pilatus PC-12 NGX.
Principle Duties:
- Pilot and safely navigate assigned aircraft.
- Fly support missions for the maintenance program, to include transporting aircraft parts and maintenance personnel to off-site bases to perform maintenance functions.
- Ensure assigned aircraft is in an airworthiness state for immediate dispatch during the daily duty period.
- Check passenger and cargo distributions and fuel amounts to ensure that weight and balance specifications are met.
- Coordinate flight plans and follow air traffic control procedures to ensure that flights are synchronized with other air traffic.
- Keep abreast of weather & flight conditions.
- Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills:
- FAA Commercial Instrument Pilot Certificate
- Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:
- This position is filled from June 1 to October 31 – could extend upon request from CAL-FIRE.
- The work week is a standard 5 days, 40 hour work week that may need shifted to meet maintenance department needs.
- During fire season, pilots should be in constant readiness for immediate dispatch during the daily duty period.
